Truman St. gives Bearcats first conference loss
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team lost its first conference game Saturday night falling 3-0 to Truman State.
With the win, 25-12, 25-12, 25-16, Truman is now one game behind the Bearcats in the MIAA standings with a record of 12-4 overall and 5-2 in conference games. Northwest is 9-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play with Friday’s loss.
Allie Brak and Abby Heise led Truman’s offense in the victory with nine kills each. Brak, who leads the team in attacks, had a total of 31 attacks in the game.
Brooke Bartosh leads the team in kills this season with 181. Bartosh only totaled six kills in the loss. The Bearcat offense had a -.018 attack percentage, and struggled to keep their offense going.
The Bearcats have a break next week before they travel to Topeka, Kan. to compete in the Lady Blues Fall Classic hosted by Washburn on Oct. 5-6.
