Bearcats Sign Four Recruits
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State volleyball coach Jessica Rinehart has announced the signings of four student-athletes who will compete for the Bearcats beginning next fall.
Brooke Bartosh, a 6-1 middle hitter from Omaha, Neb., led Elkhorn High School to Nebraska Class A and Class B third-place finishes. Bartosh was a two-time all conference selection and was an all-state honorable mention selection twice. She was also an all-conference performer in basketball for the Antlers and was a two-year state qualifier in track.
Abby Graves, outside hitter from Grundy Center, Iowa led Grundy Center High School to the state tournament her senior season. Graves was the NICL-West's two-time Most Outstanding Player. Graves hit .295 and had 317 kills, 403 digs, 39 blocks and 59 service aces for the Spartans this past season. She was a three-year captain and was a three-time all-conference performer, including first-team selections her junior and senior season. Graves was also a first-team all-state selection her senior year.
High school teammates Kirsten Hudgens and Bailey Vance both hail from Papillion, Neb., where they helped lead Papillion-LaVista South High School to an undefeated (41-0) state championship season and an ESPN Rise Magazine No. 1 national ranking.
Hudgens, a 5-4 setter, was second on the team with over 500 assists and also recorded 17 kills and is an Honor Roll student. Vance, a 5-4 libero, recorded 25 service aces and had 256 digs this past season for the Titans. Vance was also a Nebraska Class A honorable mention all-state selection by the Lincoln Journal Star.
Northwest is coming off a 15-15 season and its first NCAA tournament appearance in program history.
