John Yunker teamed with head coach Jessica Rinehart as the duo made the move to Northwest Missouri State in the summer of 2010.
Yunker spent four seasons as the head coach at St. Michael-Albertville High School in Minnesota prior to arriving in Maryville. There, he led the Knights to a combined record of 91-31, two Class AAA State Tournament appearances and a third place finish in 2008. That same year, he was named Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association Section 8AAA Coach of the Year.
A native of Maple Grove, Minn., Yunker assisted Rinehart in her first season at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. He was an assistant coach at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2001 and 2004.
Yunker has seven other years of high school coaching experience at varying levels and 15 years of Elite Junior Olympics coaching experience. He was named Mizuno Club Coach of the Year in 2001. He's also coached fastpitch softball, varsity girls ice hockey and was an assistant women's ice hockey coach at Stevens Point during the 2004-05 season.
