The Good and The Bad
Laira Akin, Sophomore, S/OH, Volleyball
Hello Bearcat fans,
Well this week I have both good news and bad news. We had a great game against UCM and even though we didn't come out with a win we played with an intensity and a fire that really let us push the Jennies to their limit. We really gave them a run for their money, we took them by surprise and capitalized on their weaknesses and ended up taking a game off the number one team in our conference and the other games were well fought and could have easily gone either way. That's the good news…now for the not so good news…
We came in to tonight's game against Mo West feeling like we had a score to settle with them, because at our last meeting we lost in five games to them at our Pink Out game. Many of us came in determined to do everything we could to win this game. I think the intensity and the execution of the offense is reflected in the box scores and that there were three hitters with double-digit kills, which is pretty darn impressive I must say. However it was simply not enough tonight, we couldn't put it all together.
Now we're going to leave that game behind us and look ahead to a good last practice and then our final two games of the season. So we're looking to go out on a win. Everyone should come see us play in our last home game of the season on Friday at 7 p.m. We're taking on the Truman Bulldogs and we would be very thankful for all the fans and their support.
Wish us luck, until next time
Cheers,
Laira #3
