Falcone Named to All-MIAA Third Team
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State junior middle hitter Sara Falcone has been named to the All-MIAA volleyball third team as voted on by the conference's coaches. Falcone led the Bearcats with 352 kills. Falcone also led the team with a career-high .299 hitting percentage, which was tenth in the conference, and 117 blocks, which was eighth-best in the MIAA. Falcone received honorable mention consideration both her freshman and sophomore season with the Bearcats.
Junior libero Paige Spangenberg and sophomore setter Laira Akin received honorable mention honors. Spangenberg led the league with a career-best 701 digs and was second in the MIAA averaging 5.19 digs per set. Spangenberg also broke the program's career digs record earlier this month and now has 1,948 in her career. Akin averaged 9.62 assists per set, Akin also had 60 kills and 67 blocks this season. Akin led the Bearcats with 30 service aces.
