Bearcats Fall in Three Sets to 20th Ranked Truman
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -The Bearcat volleyball team faced their fourth ranked opponent in five matches Friday night in No. 20 Truman. Northwest Missouri State fell to Truman in three sets 18-25, 8-25 and 18-25.
Sara Falcone led the offense with five kills in the match while adding six digs, two solo blocks and an ace. Kelsey Larson, Ashley Mitchell and Amber Ryan all had four kills each in the loss. Ryan added three block assists, while Larson and Mitchell each had one apiece.
Setter Laira Akin led the team with 18 assists in the match. Akin also had four digs, a block and three service aces. Paige Spangenberg led the Bearcats with 13 digs tonight.
Northwest was out-hit by Truman .356 to .024. Both teams had six total blocks. Lauren Graybeal led Truman with 13 kills.
Northwest (10-15, 1-8 MIAA) turns right around for their next match, as they host Missouri Southern Saturday evening at 5 o'clock inside Bearcat Arena.
