Rogers Named Interim Volleyball Coach at Northwest
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State assistant volleyball coach Allison Rogers has been promoted to interim head coach as announced by Athletic Director Dr. Bob Boerigter Monday. Rogers replaces Anna Tool who resigned.
"Last week was hard on our team, but I feel we need to focus on moving forward," said Rogers. "We're determined to finish on a high note and right now we're looking forward to Wednesday's match with Missouri Western."
Rogers is in her second year on the coaching staff following a playing career with the Bearcats that spanned 2002-06. Her 3.06 career kills per game average ranks fifth in program history.
Rogers was the head volleyball coach at Craig High School in Craig, Mo., while also serving as an elementary and secondary school counselor during the 2007-08 academic year. She began work on a master's degree in guidance and counseling at Northwest after graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology in 2007.
Northwest is currently 10-13 with a 1-6 mark in MIAA play. The Bearcats host Missouri Western in a 7 p.m. contest Wednesday inside Bearcat Arena.
