Labor Day And Mom's Birthday
-Paige Spangenberg, Junior, L/DS, Volleyball
I want to start this blog off by telling everyone thanks for all of your support last weekend at our home tournament. For those who don't know, we finished 3-1 again, which puts our record at 6-2 overall…not a bad start! Our main focus from here on out is to push from start to finish, each and every game. We leave for Wisconsin tomorrow at 11 a.m. This definitely beats our 7 a.m. departure to Memphis a couple weeks ago.
Now that school has started again, time management is a must. With missing at least a handful of Friday classes throughout the semester, it's extremely important not to get behind. Thankfully all of my professors are understanding and easy to work with…otherwise it would be a looong few months.
I'm a social science secondary education major, so the majority of my classes are history ones. I love my class schedule this semester since I never have anything before 9:30 a.m.-it works out great because I'm really not much of a morning person (ask anyone who really knows me, they'll agree).
The extra day off for Labor Day was much appreciated. Not only did I catch up on homework and rest, but I was also able to go home Sunday for my mom's birthday. My entire family met up and went out to dinner in Omaha to celebrate. After that we walked over the new walking bridge that crosses over the Missouri River into Iowa. If you're ever in downtown Omaha, it's pretty cool, especially at night with all of the different lights!
I know there wasn't too much about volleyball this time around, but hopefully you got to know me a little bit better! Can't wait to fill you in on this weekend's Wisconsin Parkside tournament. Details in my next blog…Go Bearcats!!
