MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State (10-22, 7-12) finishes the 2008 season with an upset in mind as the Bearcats travel to No. 9 Truman (27-7, 14-4) for a 7 p.m. match Friday.

Head Coach Anna Tool has upset at least one ranked team in her first two seasons at Northwest. But a win against the nation's top 25 has alluded the Bearcats in nine matches this season. Truman's only losses this season have come to ranked opponents, although the Bulldogs needed five sets to defeated unranked Nebraska-Omaha last Saturday.

Paige Spangenberg enters Friday with 1,233 career digs, seven short of passing Jennifer Waldron for sixth all-time. Spangenberg is leading the MIAA with 5.47 digs per set this season, and even if she were to play five sets and not record a dig, her average would only drop to 5.24 and still break her previous season record of 4.74 in 2007. She's already set the program season mark at 680.

It will be the final Bearcat match for senior Amy Bohnker. She's set to make her 86th start at Truman in 117 career matches. Her name appears 19 times throughout the Northwest record books, including fifth in career block assists and eighth in career total blocks.

Sara Falcone averages 3.44 kills per set against the Bulldogs in three career matches and is coming off a record-breaking night against Missouri Western Nov. 12. Falcone made 15 kills off 23 attempts for a .652 hitting percentage, the best in any three-set match in Bearcat Arena history. She leads the Bearcats with a .260 hitting percentage this season.

Truman's Allie Cherven has the chance to move past a Bearcat in the MIAA career blocking lists. Cherven has 483 career blocks and needs five to move past MIAA MVP Jill Quast for 10th in conference records. The Bulldogs are sixth in Division II with 2.46 blocks per set.
