MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State volleyball (9-20, 6-10) wraps up a three-match homestand tonight when Nebraska-Omaha (14-13, 10-6) travels for a 7 p.m. contest at Bearcat Arena. Northwest beat the Mavericks in a 3-1 match the last time the two played in Maryville Sept. 19, 2007.

It will be a meeting of the past two MIAA Specialists of the Week. Nebraska-Omaha libero Kayla Jansen averaged 6.40 digs per set last week to earn the most recent MIAA honor Nov. 3. Northwest libero Paige Spangenberg averaged 6.70 digs per set in the same span, but it was down from a 7.45 per set average the week before when she won the honor Oct. 27.

Spangenberg needs 13 digs to past her freshman season mark of 593 and move into second in all-time records. Her 5.43 digs per set this season is 12th in national statistics and third among sophomores.

Five assists by Katie Swenson tonight will move her up career records and past her predeccesor Molly Hankins for fourth in all-time records. Swenson made a season-best 58 assists against Southwest Baptist Nov. 1 on top of her 10 digs to record her 11th double-double of the season.

Swenson's double-double was just one of six the Bearcats have posted during the past two home matches. Amber Ryan and Sara Falcone each recorded back-to-back double-doubles against No. 18 Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist and combined for 62 kills and 37 digs. Andrea Potter added a double-double with 41 assists and 10 digs against the Gorillas.

A win tonight would be the second for Head Coach Anna Tool against the Mavericks. She would be the first Bearcat coach with multiple wins against Nebraska-Omaha since Pam Stanek won three from 1977-81.
