Northwest Suffers 3-0 Loss to Central Oklahoma
JOPLIN, Mo. - Northwest hit a season-best .211, and out-hit Central Oklahoma in two of three sets, but suffered a 3-0 loss to the Bronchos in the second day of the Missouri Southern Invitational. Scores went 26-24, 25-17, 25-22.
The Bearcats (2-5) rallied from a 9-3 deficit early in the first set to take a 19-15 lead after a service ace from Amber Ryan. But Central Oklahoma (2-5) answered back, eventually winning the first set 26-24.
Amy Bohnker entered the match during the third set and hit .571 on five kills and a single error, including a kill to tie the set at 19-19. The Bearcats overall hit .312 in the set with 11 kills.
Ryan and Rachel Nisi led Northwest with eight kills each. Andrea Potter made her first collegiate start at setter and tallied 27 in her debut.
The Bearcats wrap up the Missouri Southern Invitational today at 4 p.m., taking on Dallas Baptist.
