Bearcats Open MIAA Tournament at No. 15 Emporia State

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State women's volleyball team will open the MIAA tournament at No. 15 Emporia State tonight at 7 p.m. in Emporia, Kan. The Bearcats have lost five straight matches to the Hornets with a 1-12 road record.

The Bearcats only victory versus the Hornets in Emporia came on Sept. 15, 2004 winning 3-2. This season Northwest nearly upset the Hornets leading 2-1 through three games. Emporia won the final two games to sneak out of Maryville with a match win.

Northwest is looking for its first victory in the MIAA Tournament since its inception in 2003. The Bearcats are 0-1 all-time with its sole loss coming last season versus Washburn.
