Bearcats Drop MIAA Tournament Match to Hornets
EMPORIA, Kan. - The Northwest volleyball team bid for advancement into the MIAA Postseason Tournament came up short getting swept by No. 15 Emporia State. Scores went 30-19, 30-25 and 30-15 as the Bearcats struggled beating the Hornets on their home court.
The Bearcats move to 17-17 overall after finishing 6-7 in the MIAA.
Alicia Johnson and Rachel Nisi topped the Northwest kill department recording 11 each. Paige Spangenberg had 22 digs, an average of nearly six digs per game, in the loss.
It's the first time this season that Northwest did not have at least one ace. The Bearcats are now 1-13 all-time against Emporia State in Emporia, Kan and 11-31 overall.
