Northwest drops back to even, 16-16 overall, and 5-7 in the MIAA.
The Bearcats opened the day winning a marathon first game 35-33 against No. 8 Central Missouri, before dropping the next three games by scores of 30-17, 30-25 and 30-11. Alicia Johnson led the offensive attack with 19 kills, hitting .289 with 12 digs. Paige Spangenberg recorded 28 digs, one off her career-high. Rachel Nisi and Amber Ryan pitched in 13 kills apiece.
In match two, Northwest had five hitters touch double-digit kills led by Sara Falcone's 22 spikes. The Bearcats forced a game five winning game four 30-26. In game five, St. Mary's closed out the Bearcats with a 9-2 run after being tied 6-6.
Alicia Johnson recorded double-doubles in both matches giving her 19 on the season.
The Bearcats will finish its regular season schedule Wednesday, Oct. 31 at home against Missouri Western. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
