Northwest Takes Down Tigers 3-1
Fort Hays, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team took down Fort Hays 3-1 by scores of 22-30, 30-15, 30-26 and 30-23. The Bearcats struggled in game one hitting just .043 at the net, but rebounded with three consecutive games hitting over .270 at the net.
Rachel Nisi, Alicia Johnson and Sara Falcone all had 16 kills en route to Northwest's fourth conference victory. The Bearcats move to 15-11 overall and 4-3 in the MIAA. Johnson and Nisi each recorded double-double's with 11 and 15 digs. Katie Swenson dished 55 assists, the ninth time she has recorded more than 50 assists in a match this year. Defensively, Paige Spangenberg led the way with 19 digs.
The Bearcats will host Emporia State on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. The first 200 fans will receive a pink t-shirt to support breast cancer.
