Bearcats Travel to Missouri Western for 7 p.m. Match Tonight
MARYVILLE - (Match Notes) Northwest Missouri State volleyball plays on the road for the first time in 11 matches, visiting Missouri Western for a 7 p.m. match tonight.
The Bearcats haven't been on the road since competing at the St. Edward's (Texas) Classic on Aug. 31-Sept. 1.
Alicia Johnson leads the MIAA in service aces, averaging 0.63 per game, and is fourth in conference statistics with 4.62 points per game. Johnson also maintains a 14-match streak with double-digit kills, the longest such streak since Jill Quast did the same from Oct. 10-Nov. 1, 1997.
Katie Swenson needs 83 more assists to likely move into top 10 season records for assists per game. She is averaging 12.01 assists per game this season, which would sit fourth in season records. The minimum for inclusion is 900 season assists.
The Griffons are 6-11 and winless in MIAA play at 0-3. Audra Ridolfi is second in the conference with 1.32 blocks per game and Alyssa Berg leads Missouri Western with 200 kills and 23 service aces. Head coach Tiffany Mastin is in the midst of her first season with the Griffons, after spending the previous two at Oakland City (Ind.) University.
