Spikers Fall to Florida Southern

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the No. 5 Florida Southern Moccasins at Bearcat Arena. Northwest battled in each game, but could not pull out a win losing by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-25.

In game two, Northwest led 24-19 and had a great chance to get back into the match. A 9-2 run by the Moccasins took down the Bearcats in game two and Florida Southern never trailed in the game three clinching win.

The Bearcats were led by Alicia Johnson's 13 kills, while Sara Falcone also contributed 11 kills. Defensively, Nicole Wojtowicz and Paige Spangenberg led the way with 17 and 16 digs, respectively.

Records: Northwest 7-8 (1-1 MIAA); Florida Southern 11-3 (0-0 SSC).
