Bearcat Classic All-Tournament Team Released

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Seven players were honored with All-Tournament team at the Bearcat Classic played Sept. 7 & 8. South Dakota's Kathleen Hruska (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Amber Kobus (Columbus, Neb.), Augustana's (S.D.) Cayla Schroeder (Kasson, Minn.) and Lisa Hoegh (Bryon, Minn.), Northwest's Katie Swenson (Omaha, Neb.) and Alicia Johnson (Tripoli, Iowa), and Southwest Baptist's Shyrah Perry (Fair Grove, Mo.) all nabbed all-tournament team at the first annual Bearcat Classic.

Coyotes Kathleen Hruska and Amber Kobus aided South Dakota to a perfect 4-0 record and continued their win streak to 13 straight matches. Hruska had a tournament high .404 hitting percentage with 60 kills, while Libero Kobus recorded 11 aces, including seven in one match versus Texas A&M International, and averaged 4.69 digs per game.

Cayla Schroeder and Lisa Hoegh also helped No. 17 Augustana go a perfect 4-0, including a comeback win against host Northwest. Schroeder averaged 4.40 digs per game with 69 kills and Hoegh averaged 13.40 assists per game.

The Bearcats Katie Swenson had a tournament-high 66 assists in a tough 3-2 loss versus Augustana, averaging 12.80 throughout the weekend. Alicia Johnson set single match career-highs in kills (25), hitting percentage (.600) and total attempts (55) in the Classic, averaging 4.93 kills per game.

Lady Bearcats Shyrah Perry averaged a tournament-high 6.80 digs per game as Southwest Baptist finished 2-2.
