Swenson, Bohnker Named To All-Tournament Team
MARYVILLE, MO--Northwest freshman Katie Swenson and junior Amy Bohnker have been named to the Nebraska-Kearney Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team. Both helped lead the Bearcats to a 2-2 mark to begin the season.
Swenson, a redshirt freshman setter, averaged 11.2 assists per game in four starts. She added 27 digs, 11 kills and six aces. Swenson had a match-high 55 assists in Northwest's 3-1 win against Montevallo in the season opener. She added 45 more in the Bearcats' five-game loss to Northern State.
Bohnker, a junior middle hitter, led the Bearcats with a .385 hitting percentage and 15 blocks in four starts. She totaled 34 kills and had just four errors in 78 attempts.
Bohnker's .562 (9-0-16) hitting percentage in Northwest's three-game sweep of St. Martin's was a career high. She had nine kills in the opener against Montevallo.
Joining the Bearcat duo on the all-tournament team was Erica Burson (MVP), Kelli Wemhoff and Cola Svec from host Nebraska-Kearney and Emily Knaeble and Melanie Perez from Northern State.
