Heston Honored Regionally by Daktronics
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State senior middle hitter MacKenzie Heston was selected to the 2006 Daktronics Division II All-South Central Region Second Team. The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), Gulf South Conference (GSC) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) were the three conferences in the south central region and the players were voted on by sports information directors from each individual school. She was one of the four middle hitters picked from the 12 middle hitters that were nominated. It is the first Daktronics honor a Northwest volleyball player has received since Jill Quast received second team in 2000. This is the second award Heston has received in as many days and she was awarded with second team All-MIAA yesterday.
Eight other MIAA athletes were selected to first or second team as #1 Truman placed three players on first team.
North Alabama senior setter Laura Bellinger was picked as player of the year.
