Bremer Gets Awarded for Stellar Performance last Week
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State volleyball freshman Priscilla Bremer recorded career highs and placed herself on an individual match record list as the Bearcats went 1-1 versus two ranked opponents. The Moline, Ill. native was awarded with Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Hitter of the Week for matches played from Oct. 15-22.
In the upset 3-1 win versus #15 Washburn, Bremer led the Bearcats in kills with 24 and hit .600 (24-3-35) at the net. In game two, Bremer aided an 8-0 run with three kills, which broke a 7-7 tie to help Northwest to the match win. The .600 hitting percentage tied her for second all-time in school history for a four-game match.
In the #11 Central Missouri match, Bremer was second on the Bearcats kills list with 18 while adding five digs and four assists. She recorded 19 points (18 kills, 2 block assists) in the 3-1 loss on Senior Day.
Bremer averaged 5.69 points per game and hit .354 (42 kills, 13 errors, 82 attempts) over the past week. She is the second Bearcat to receive this award in the 2006 season. Senior Molly Hankins has won MIAA Specialist of the Week twice. This is the third time a Bearcat has received MIAA Player of the Week honors, which is the most since 2000 when Northwest was awarded four times.
