Hankins Nabs Specialist of the Week
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Senior Molly Hankins of Moline, Ill. received the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Specialist of the Week for matches played from Aug. 21-27. Hankin's performance at the Missouri Southern Tournament this past weekend, which consisted of 177 assists, landed her also on the all-tournament team. Hankins averaged 11.8 assists per game, which was among the top efforts in the tournament. In addition to her assists, she averaged 2.00 digs per game and hit .269 percent overall.
Head coach Anna Tool commented, "Molly did an outstanding job running the offense and made it very tough to defend."
The Bearcats started 3-1 and will travel to the Missouri Western Tournament this weekend for another four-match set Sept. 1-2.
The last Bearcat volleyball player to receive an MIAA Player of the Week award was Lauren Cummings when she recieved co-hitter of the week Oct. 25, 2005.
