Volleyball Loses to Pitt State in Four
Pittsburg, Kan.-The Northwest Missouri State volleyball dropped another Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association match, this time to Pittsburg State, 3-1 (20-30, 21-30, 30-26, 20-30) on Wednesday. This is the Bearcats sixth straight loss in the MIAA on the year.
Northwest was unable to get the ball down, as they were forced into 27 attack errors, eight service errors, eight reception errors, five blocking errors and five ball handling errors.
The Bearcats attack percentage for the match was at .140, while their highest of the night was in game four with a .213.
Individually for the Bearcats, junior MacKenzie Heston (Ankeny, Iowa) had 10 kills and 12 digs for her first double-double on the season. Fellow classmate Molly Hankins (Moline, Ill.) also had her fifth double-double of the season, with a team high 24 assists and a team high 15 digs, along with freshman Annie Rice (Lincoln, Neb.).
In the loss, Northwest falls to 7-11 overall and 0-6 in the MIAA, while Pitt State goes to 8-11 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Up next for the Bearcats is a home match tomorrow (Friday) at 7 p.m. against Southwest Baptist and Saturday, Northwest will host Missouri Southern at 1 p.m.
