Volleyball Drops Last Match in Florida to No. 7 Tampa
Tampa, Fla.-The Northwest Missouri State volleyball team dropped its final match of the Florida trip to the No. 7 University of Tampa, 4-1 (12-30, 25-30, 31-29, 14-30).
The Bearcats were once again doomed by the service errors with 16 and 11 reception errors in the loss. In the first and fourth game the Northwest attack percent was its lowest at .028 and .077.
Northwest was led by sophomore Rachel Spensley (Dubuque, Iowa) and junior Sarah Trowbridge (Boone, Iowa) each with 14 kills. Trowbridge also had her second double double of the season with a team high 11 digs.
The Bearcats used two setters in the match with sophomore Katie Stilwell (W. Des Moines, Iowa) producing a team high 26 assists and junior Molly Hankins (Moline, Ill.) with 15. Sophomore Lauren Cummings (Ankeny, Iowa) had a game high four blocks in the today's match.
The volleyball team is now 6-5 on the season and they will open up the home portion of their season on Wednesday Sept. 14 against MIAA foe Emporia State at Bearcat Arena.
