Indoor Track & Field MIAA Preseason Coaches Polls

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State indoor track & field programs were picked to finish in a tie for eighth place on the women’s side and the men were seeded ninth in the MIAA preseason coaches poll, which was released by the conference office on Thursday.

In the men’s poll, Central Missouri was ranked first with seven first place votes and 79 total votes. Pittsburg State received the other three first place votes and had 70 total points. Northwest received 18 points to be ranked ninth.

The Bearcat women’s team was tied for eighth overall, picking up 33 points. Lincoln received 10 of the 11 first place votes and had an even 100 points. Central Missouri was ranked second with 82 points and Missouri Southern had one first place vote and had 81 total points.

The 2013-14 indoor season begins on Dec. 6 with the Cyclone Holiday Preview at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa. The 2013-14 MIAA Indoor Championships will be hosted by Missouri Southern, in Joplin, Mo., from Feb. 28 – March 2.
