Pair of school records set at NebraskaMeet Results
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State track and field programs set two school records and had multiple top performances at the 2014 Holiday Inn Invitational at the Devaney Sports Center on the University of Nebraska campus in Lincoln, Neb. The meet was the first event of the indoor season for the Bearcats since returning from holiday break and included multiple Division I programs including host Nebraska, Kansas and Air Force.
On the men’s side, Tim Grundmayer finished fifth in the 1,000 meters, setting a school record in 2:29.40. Nolan Zimmer placed seventh in the 3,000 meters, setting the Northwest record in 8:30.80. Drew Keefer placed 4th in the 5,000 meters in 15:10.55. Ryan Cox was eighth in the 1,000 meters in 2:30.88, and Zach Dixon was 13th in the 600 meters in 1:24.92. The Northwest distance medley team ran the third fastest time in program history, placing seventh in 10:28.11. The team included Joe Anger, Trevor Obecny, Grundmayer and Zimmer.
On the women’s side, Audrey Bolinger placed fifth in the 600 meter run, finishing in 1:41.51. Right behind her in 17th place was teammate Alex Hartwig, finishing in 1:41.59. Haley Manning took fifth in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:16.94, good for third in Northwest’s all-time lists. Kendra Martiny cleared 10-6 in the pole vault, taking sixth. Lekiesha McKnight finished seventh in the shot put with a mark of 46-2.75. Anne Herbert placed 13th in the 3,000 meters, the 10th fastest time in program history.
Up next, Northwest will head to Pella, Iowa, for the Central Multis starting on Friday, Jan. 24. The two-day event will also take place on Saturday, Jan. 25.
