Haer closes career at NCAA Championships

PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2013 season came to a disappointing end for the Northwest Missouri State track and field team Saturday as senior Will Haer failed to make the opening height in the pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The MIAA pole vault champion, Haer, was one of three individuals that failed to clear the 15-9 (4.80m) opening mark in the event. The senior recorded a career best mark of 16-3.50 to win the MIAA Championship in the pole vault earlier this month and send him to this weekend’s national championships.

Freshman Jordan Yamoah of Texas A&M-Kingsville outlasted Vince Frawley of Grand Canyon University to win the title with a mark of 17-8.50.
