Bearcats race at historic KU Relays
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Ryan Cox highlighted Thursday for the Northwest Missouri State track and field teams with a top 10 finish at the 2013 Kansas Relays.
Cox finished sixth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:06.09 as teammate Carl Larsson finished 16th. Cox’s time was just shy of the NCAA provisional mark of 3:52.00 as Larsson checked in with a time of 4:10.25.
Drew Keefer also posted a solid time for the Bearcat men with a 16th place finish in the 5000-meter run. Keefer finished the run with a time of 15:10.15.
On the women’s side Jordan Esry was just over a minute off the provisional time in the 5000-meter run with her time of 18:26.95. Esry finished 16th in the race.
In the 800-meter run Emilee Messer finished with a time of2:27.31 to finish just 10 seconds behind first place Lovan Palmer of Lincoln.
Both Bearcats teams will turn their attention to the Mule Relays hosted by Central Missouri. The meet originally schedule for Friday has been moved to Sunday at Walton Stadium due to expected thunderstorms in central Missouri.
