Four Bearcats earn All-Region honors

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named All-Region honorees for the 2012 indoor season as four Northwest Missouri State athletes earned the distinction on Wednesday.

On the men’s side three Bearcats received All-Region honors. Will Haer in the pole vault, Porter Groves in the triple jump and Seth Staashhelm in the heptathlon rounded out the Northwest trio. Haer will represent Northwest in next month’s NCAA Indoor National Championships in the pole vault.

For the Northwest women, Lekiesha McKnight received All-Region accolades for her performance in the shot put. McKnight finished fourth over the weekend at the MIAA Championships as her performance also earned her a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
