Staashelm earns provisional mark
CRETE, Neb. – Junior Seth Staashelm wasted little time earning a NCAA provisional mark in the heptathlon before the semester break at the Doane Holiday Multis.
Staashelm scored 4829 points earning a national provisional qualifying mark for the National Championships March 9-10 in Mankato, Minn. The junior now stands sixth in the country in the heptathlon after finishing seventh at the Doane Multi-Events Meets.
Zeke Winans also placed 11th in the heptathlon with 4167 points.
Jonathan Hilton, running unattached, finished first followed by Central Missouri’s All-America Brent Vogel. Vogel finished with 5315 points for second behind Hilton’s 5396 points for a first-place finish.
