Shaw reaches finals of 60-meter hurdles
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Northwest Missouri State junior Tyler Shaw has earned All-America honors in the 60-meter hurdles for the third consecutive year after finishing sixth in the preliminaries of the event Friday at the NCAA National Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Shaw placed second in his heat with a time of 8.05s. He'll compete in the eight-person final at 5:35 p.m. local time (MST). Shaw was the national runner-up in the hurdles in 2009 and placed sixth in 2010.
Shaw also competed in the 200-meter dash, but did not qualify for finals. He placed third in his heat and 12th overall with a personal-best time of 21.74s, a mark that ranks third in program history.
