Shaw qualifies for national meet
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State junior sprinter Tyler Shaw has qualified for the 2011 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 11-12 in Albuquerque, N.M. Shaw qualified for both the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash.
Shaw, who is a two-time All-American in the 60-meter hurdles, ran a time of 8.04s at the Concordia Invite earlier in February to qualify. Shaw was the national runner-up in 2009 and placed sixth in 2010, he is also a two-time All-American at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 110-meter high hurdles.
It is the first time in his career that Shaw has qualified for the 200-meters. Shaw ran a time of 21.92s to qualify this past weekend at the MIAA Championships where he placed third. Shaw's time converted to 21.62s due to the size of the track.
