All-Academic Track and Field Teams Announced
MARYVILLE, Mo.—Northwest Missouri State sophomore Angela Adams and seniors Lindsay Biermann and Emily Churchman were selected to USTFCCCA’s Division II All-Academic Team for the 2009-10 academic year. In addition, the Bearcat women’s track and field team is one of 67 institutions to be named an All-Academic Team for posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better.
The MIAA saw eight of its nine women’s programs named an All-Academic team with Nebraska-Omaha being the lone exception. Northwest’s program combined for a 3.26 team GPA, which ranked 39th nationally.
For an individual to be named to the All-Academic team, she must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event. Adams and Churchman were national participants in the indoor national championship meet while Biermann joined the duo at the outdoor national championship meet.
Biermann maintained a 3.87 GPA while majoring in zoology. Adams has a 3.82 GPA while double majoring in biology and psychology. Churchman finished with a 3.48 GPA while majoring in corporate recreation and wellness.
