Suntken, Nibert Sign With Northwest Track
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State head track and field coach Scott Lorek has announced the signing of Indianola (Iowa) prep star Todd Suntken and St. Mary's (Mo.) standout Ashton Nibert to national letters of intent.
Suntken is the brother of Stephanie Martin, who played volleyball, ran track and was the Senior Women's Administrator at Northwest. Todd was a team captain for Indianola's track and field team this past season. He specializes in sprints, including the 200- and 400-meter dashes.
Ashton is a two-time Missouri Class 2 state champion. She won the 400-meter crown with a school-record time of 57.97s at the 2010 state meet. Her first title came as a member of St. Mary's 4x400-meter relay team back in 2008. Ashton was also an all-state setter for the Trojan volleyball team. Her twin sister, Alexis, earned honorable mention honors as an outside hitter.
