School Record, Ninth Place for Churchman
CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Northwest Missouri State senior Emily Churchman broke her own school record in the heptathlon, but came up 10 points shy of All-America honors after placing ninth in the event Friday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Johnson C. Smith University.
Churchman finished with 5,116 points, 25 more than her previous best set during the MIAA championship meet in early May. Aisha Adams of Angelo State won the national title with 5,698 points. Tuekeha Huntley of Cal State Los Angeles took the final All-America slot with 5,126 points in eighth place.
