Northwest Bearcats

Press Release

May 20, 2009

From the Graduate Assistant's Perspective

By Matt Pohren

Well rested after a 16-hour drive to San Angelo, I have to say that I am very excited to be here. Fresh off a morning run with Coach Lorek and Coach Koschel and just completing afternoon practice, I and all the athletes eagerly await tonight's banquet and festivities. The excitement is building and there is truly a buzz of anticipation as the DII nationals begin.

Each athlete is ready and focused on bringing their "A" game to compete at the highest level. Getting a different perspective coming as a graduate assistant instead of an athlete, I have seen and know the hard work each athlete has put in to get here and it certainly has paid off. The next few days will be an experience that I will never forget as I eagerly await the outcomes of each Bearcat's respective event.

Be sure to stay on top of the action, check the updates and send your best wishes to each of the athletes competing.
