McKim and Bailey Named MIAA Athletes of the Week
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Audrey Bailey and Ben McKim each earned MIAA Athlete of the Week honors after the two automatically qualified for NCAA Outdoor Championships at the Kansas Relays last weekend.
Bailey finished second in the 400-meter hurdles and defeated three Division I athletes in the finals with 1:00.60. She lowered her personal record by more than two-10ths of a second and currently stands third in Division II performance lists.
McKim won the shot put with 58 feet, three inches and defeated runner-up Sean Pruitt of Michigan by more than three feet. McKim has Division II's fourth-best mark in the event and leads the MIAA with a weekend remaining before the conference championships.
Both McKim and Bailey will compete in the 100th Drake Relays this weekend. McKim throws the shot put Friday at 2:30 p.m. while Bailey runs the 400-meter hurdles Saturday at 1:49 p.m.
