Limited Squad Competes at Shortened Missouri Relays
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Trevor Johannsen and Ben McKim posted the best finishes among a limited Northwest Missouri State squad who competed at the weather-shortened 10th Annual Missouri Relays yesterday. Poor weather conditions cancelled the second day of events at Audrey Walton Stadium in Columbia, Mo.
Johannsen finished fourth in the 10,000-meter run in 32 minutes, 45.27 seconds and runner-up among the five Division II athletes in the field. McKim threw 161-5 on his first attempt in the finals of the hammer throw to place fourth ahead of two Division I throwers.
Austin Gray also finished seventh in the hammer throw with 148-11. Jane Bowness rounded out the top-10 performers for Northwest with 42:26.41 to finish seventh in the 10,000-meter run.
Up Next: Northwest multi-event athletes participate in the Herschel Neil Decathlon and Ashley Nally Heptathlon tomorrow and Monday at Bearcat Stadium.
