Bearcats Win Four Events at Central Missouri Classic
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Ben McKim threw 55-11 3/4 to improve his career-best in the shot put for the fifth straight meet to finish second at the Central Missouri Classic Feb. 20. McKim, who had Division II's eighth-best shot put mark, came within a half-inch of matching his career-best in the weight throw with 52-10 1/4.
The women's 4x440-yard relay team of Hannah Henry, Audrey Bailey, Alissa Miller and Bridget Kleine, won the event in four minutes, 0.95 seconds. Henry also finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with 9.11 and Bailey ran a career-best 59.53 in the 400-meter dash to finish fourth.
Martin Curley won the triple jump and placed fourth in the long jump with career-bests 45-11 1/4 and 22-2 1/2, respectively. Tyler Shaw won the 60-meter hurdles for the second-straight meet with 8.29 and John Miles matched his career-best with 6.83 to win the 60-meter dash.
Emily Churchman finished second in the long jump with a career-best 17-6 and finished fifth in the high jump 4-11 1/2. Miller was the top Division II finisher in the 600-yard run with a career-best 1:28.94.
Up Next: Northwest will return to the UCM Multipurpose Building next weekend for the MIAA Championships Feb. 27-March 1.
