Churchman Improves Provisional Mark with Program Record at Doane

DOANE, Neb. - Emily Churchman scored 3,372 points in the pentathlon to improve her NCAA provisional qualifying mark and the Northwest Missouri State program record in a first-place finish in the Kip Janvrin Multi-Events Meet Feb. 1. Churchman won the shot put with 33-3 and finished second in the long jump and high jump. She did not finish lower than fourth in any event in the 12-athlete field.

Jennifer Kiss, Lindsay Biermann and Johanna Avilez finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Biermann bested her personal record by 193 points as Kiss and Avilez competed in their first career pentathlons.

Up Next: The Northwest women head to Warrensburg, Mo., Feb. 6 for the Central Missouri Mule Relays. Competition from the UCM Multipurpose Building starts at 2 p.m.
