Kiss Finishes Sixth in Emporia State Multi-Events
EMPORIA, Kan. - Junior Jennifer Kiss posted two top-five finishes in the second day of the Emporia State Multi-Events, finishing sixth in the 24-person field. She scored a personal record 4,246 points, only five points away from fifth. Sophomore Lindsay Biermann finished 12th with 3,921, improving by more than 500 points from the Ashley Nally Heptathlon last month.
Kiss scored more than 600 points in five events, scoring the most in the 200-meter dash with a sprint of 27.26 seconds. She finished third in the 800-meter run for 670 points and fourth in the long jump for 617 points. Kiss is seventh in the program all-time performer lists and needs 13 points to move into sixth.
Biermann placed fifth in the 800-meter run, scoring 657 points off a time of 2:32.90. She placed in the top 10 in four events in her second career heptathlon.
Up Next: Both Northwest track and field teams are scheduled to compete at the Jim Duncan Invitational April 12 in Des Moines, Iowa. Events begin at 9 a.m.
