
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Junior Audrey Bailey defeated three NCAA Division I athletes to finish second in the 400-meter hurdles as one of five Northwest Missouri State track and field women athletes who participated in the Ninth Annual Missouri Relays that ended today. Bailey ran 1:04.36 in the elite division of the event.
Junior Anna O’Brien won her heat of the 5,000-meter run Friday night with a career-best 18:14.09, but ended up finishing 11th overall. Junior Halley Carlson defeated two Division I athletes in the high jump’s elite class to finish fifth, jumping 5-3 on her first attempt.
Senior Hannah Henry finished third in her heat of the 100-meter hurdles with 15.54, placing 11th overall in the preliminaries. Freshman Rachel Lewis finished 13th overall in the 200-meter dash, placing third in her heat with 26.29.
Northwest will stay at home through next weekend, hosting the Ashley Nally Heptathlon March 30-31 and the Jock’s Nitch Northwest Open April 5. Both meets will take place at Herschel Neil Track inside Bearcat Stadium.
