
DES MOINES -- One relay team and two individuals from Northwest Missouri State competed at the Drake Relays, which ran from Wednesday through Saturday (April 25-28).
Senior Bayo Adio tied for third in the finals of the high jump with a leap of 6' 8 3/4". He tied with Mitch Ellis from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Julian Morris from Iowa State owned the top mark at 6'10 3/4". Bayo was one of three non-Division I athletes to place in the finals -- out of a group of 26.
Sophomore Khai Berry held the 20th position in preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.53. Both Adio and Berry competed in the University/College Division which mixed athletes from all ranks of the NCAA Division I, II and III.
Sophomore Audrey Bailey, junior Hannah Henry, junior Brandi Honeywell and freshman Kelly Raffety comprised the 4x400 women's relay team. These Bearcats finished 15th in the prelims with a time of 3:56.38 in the College Division, which is made up of Division II, III and NAIA.
Individuals are competing at the MIAA Multi-Event Championships hosted by Emporia State which runs Sunday and Monday. Both squads will send their full compliment of athletes to the MIAA Championships, which run from May 5-6 in Hays, Kan.
