Northwest Returns from Kansas and Mule Relays
LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's track and field teams competed in both the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan., and the Mule Relays in Warrensburg, Mo. The majority of the team competed in the Kansas Relays while a small portion competed in the Mule Relays.
The Bearcats competed against many unattached and Division I schools in the Kansas Relays, and still managed seven top-six finishers and three new provisional marks. Junior Courtland Ingram led the Bearcats in a third-place provisional finish in the Decathlon with 6573 points. Senior Bayo Adio finished second for the Bearcats with a new provisional third place finish in the high jump with a height of 7-00.05. Senior Eric Isley also finished in third place in the 800-meter unseeded run with a time of 1:52.39. Sophomore Khai Berry finished in eighth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.53. Both Berry and Isley's finishes were provisional times, but they did not exceed their previous provisional marks. The men's 4x110 meter hurdles team came in fourth with a time of 1:03.16. The men's 1600-meter relay and distance medley team both finished in sixth place with times of 3:30.64 and 10:29.03. Sophomore Hannah Henry was the top finisher for the women with a provisional 14th place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.57. Sophomore Anna O'Brien finished in 11th place in the 1500-meter unseeded with a time of 4:46.64, only 4.64 seconds short of a provisional time. Freshman Jane Bowness also had an 11th place finish in the 3000-meter with a time of 11:43.95. The women's 4x100 hurdle relay team finished in fourth place with a time of 1:00.75, and the women's 4x880 yard relay team finished in tenth with a time of 10:05.08.
Junior Clif McIntosh was the top Northwest finisher at the Mule Relays with a first-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 15-07.00. Sophomore Bradley Cox finished just behind McIntosh in third place with a height of 15-07.25. Sophomore Megan Tinsley was the top women's finisher with an eighth place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 22:19.51. Sophomore Catrina Bennett finished in 11th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.00.
