Bearcats Sweep Competition at Northwest Invitational
MARYVILLE, Mo. - (results) The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's track and field teams swept the competition at the Northwest Invitational. The women finished in first place with 293 points, beating second place by 121 points. The men also finished in first place with 312 points, beating out second by 170 points. The team as a whole finished with 21 event titles.
The women had eight individuals finish first in their respective event: junior Karah Spader in the 10000-meter run (39:00.0); sophomore Anna O'Brien in the 1500-meter run (5:01.46) and in the 3000-meter run (11:04.63); sophomore Hannah Henry in the 100-meter hurdles (14.60); sophomore Audrey Bailey in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.72); junior Brandi Honeywell in the 200-meter dash (26.02); sophomore Emily Churchman in the long jump (17.78); and sophomore Tierney Eaton in the high jump (5.22). The women also won event titles in the 4x100-meter relay (50.12) and the 4x400-meter relay (4:21.76).
The men also had a very successful day coming away with ten individuals finish first in their respective event: senior Eric Isley in the 1500-meter run (4:10.89); sophomore Khai Berry in the 110-meter hurdles (14.47); freshman Jimmy Greisbach in the 400-meter dash (52.14); senior Matt Pohren in the 5000-meter run (15:55.70); senior Diezeas Calbert in the long jump (22.21) and in the triple jump (47.76); freshman Ben McKim in the shot put (49.11); junior Clif McIntosh in the pole vault (14.50); senior Bayo Adio in the high jump (6.79); and junior Brandon Schoen in the discuss throw (162.23). The men also finished first in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:34.75.
