Three Bearcats Return From NCAA Championships
Boston, Mass.- Yesterday (March. 10), three Northwest Missouri State men athletes competed in the NCAA indoor track and field Championship. With the conclusion of this meet, the end of the indoor season is completed. The Bearcat athletes were seniors Eric Isley, Bayo Adio, and Diezeas Calbert.
Isley was the leading finisher for the Bearcats. Isley finished with All-American Honors finishing in fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.15. This sets a new personal record for Isley, also finishing just .04 seconds behind the school record of 1:51.11. Last year, Isley placed in 12th place in the preliminaries at the championship with a time of 1:56.17.
Adio finished in ninth place in the men's high jump with a height of 6-08.75. Last year, Adio finished in tenth place in the preliminaries with a jump of 6-07.00.
In the triple jump, Calbert finished in 11th place with a distance of 46-10.75. In the 2005 Championships,Calbert finished in tenth place in the triple jump with a distance of 46-08.25.
The start of the outdoor season is scheduled to start on the 15th for the men, at the Pittsburg State Open. The women are to start on the 16th at the Austin Peay Spring Fling in Tenn.
