Eric Isley is Awarded With MIAA Player of the Week
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Northwest Missouri State track and field runner, senior Eric Isley was awarded the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Player of the Week, announced today (Monday).
Last Friday at the Prairie Wolf Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., Isley finished in third place in the men's 800-meter run. Isley's finishing time was 1:51.67. Barely missing the automatic qualifying time of 1:51.30, Isley had to settle with a very good provisionally qualifying time instead. Isley stands with the third-fastest time in nationwide performance lists as of Feb. 18.
This is a personal record in Indoor Track for Isley, beating his old best of 1:52.48 set last year at the MIAA Championships. The school record right now is 1:51.11, held by Kyle Keraus back in 2001.
Isley is the only Northwest runner to receive the MIAA Player of the Week honors so far this year.
