Bearcat Track and Field Competes Prairie Wolf Invitational

Lincoln, Neb.- The Northwest Missouri State University track and field teams traveled to Lincoln, Neb., to compete in the Prairie Wolf Invitational yesterday. This was the last meet for this regular season. The MIAA Championships will be the bearcats next meet. As for a last meet, the Bearcats definitely took advantage of it and came away with some very strong finishers.

The women came away with one third place finisher and several other fourth place finishers, despite the fact that there were many unattached runners at the event. Sophomore Emily Churchman finished in third place in the women's triple jump with a distance of 36-00.25. Finishing right behind Churchman was freshman Lindsay Biermann in fourth place with a distance of 35-03.25. In the women's 60-meter dash, senior Kailea Cook finished in fourth place with a tie of 7.84.

This event could easily be said to be the men's best meet so far this year. The men had two first place finishers and three other top three finishers. In addition, the men also had two new provisionally qualifying marks. Senior Dizeas Calbert finished in first place in the men's triple jump with a distance of 48-04.75. In the men's high jump, senior Bayo Adio, finished in second place with a height of 6-11.50. This jump breaks the Northwest school record and gives Adio a new provisionally qualifying height. Senior Eric Isley finished in third place with a time of 1:51.67. This gives Isley a new provisionally qualifying time, just barely missing the automatic qualifying time by .37 seconds.
