Bayo Adio Wins Dave Farmer Cup at Southern California USATF Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Senior jumper Bayo Adio (Oakland, Calif.) recently won the high jump and received the Dave Farmer Men's High Jump Traveling Cup at the 21st Annual Jim Bush Southern California USATF Championships in Los Angeles. Adio, competing unattached, recorded a 6' 8 3/4" mark to beat the runner-up by two inches. He also finished seventh in the triple jump with 45' 10 3/4" and 13th in the long jump with 20' 6 1/4".

"We're awfully proud him," commented men's track and field head coach Richard Alsup. "He was very consistent throughout the year, and we're very pleased with his performance."

Adio won the MIAA high jump in both indoor and outdoor seasons, and finished 10th in the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships. During the indoor season, Adio finished in the top-three four times, and never finished below third in the outdoor season. Adio's top mark in the outdoor high jump this season came at the MIAA Championships, where he recorded 6' 11 3/4".
