MacKenzie Competes at MSSU Last Chance Meet
JOPLIN, Mo. - Senior thrower Travis MacKenzie placed second in the hammer throw at the Missouri Southern Lionbacker Last Chance Meet today in Joplin, Mo. MacKenzie threw 176' 2 1/2", placing behind Jamie Talman, who competed unattached. Earlier this season at the Nebraska Invitational on April 15, MacKenzie threw 184' 6", a mark that stands as the ninth best in the country.
MacKenzie will join the rest of his teammates Saturday, as the Bearcats travel to the Emporia State Twilight Qualifier. The meet will be the last opportunity to qualify or improve times and measurments for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships on May 25-27, in Emporia, Kan.
